Many of you have been following my journey over the past four and a half weeks as I train for the Blogher 5K. This is a big deal to me; as I have mentioned many times on Suburban Scrawl, I’m “not a runner”…but as I continue to make progress in my training, I have moments in which I’m starting to feel a little like one. (They’re fleeting moments, but I’ll take ’em!)
One of the important parts of my training (okay, not just my training!) is hydration. Water, though it has traditionally never been my favorite beverage when soda is in the house, is one of those things that there’s just really no good excuse for avoiding. As I take great strides in making healthier choices for a healthier me, water has become a big part of my days. I carry it around everywhere with me. I’m not buying soda anymore, either.
And anyway, though weight loss is not my primary goal at the moment it’s been an awesome side effect of new and healthier habits, so who am I to turn up my nose at it?
